Installing Netrinos on MacOS
Set up your Mac in minutes
Netrinos connects your devices together into a private network. Install it on two or more computers to create your mesh, then access files and remote desktops as if they were on the same local network.
Prerequisites
- A Netrinos account
- At least one other computer set up with Netrinos
Installation
- Visit the Netrinos website at https://netrinos.com
- Click "Download" and select the MacOS version.
- Open the downloaded file and begin installation.
- Follow the on-screen prompts, accepting the default settings.
- Netrinos will launch automatically.
- Log in using your Netrinos credentials.
Connecting to Your Network
- Netrinos will display your other computers. Initially, they may be grayed out, indicating they're still connecting.
- A timer beside a computer's name means your network is established and ready.
- Offline, sleeping, or unconnected computers will remain grayed out.
- Access Netrinos settings through the Menu Bar icon.
File Sharing
- In Netrinos, copy the other computer's Tunnel Name.
- Open Finder. Navigate to Go > Connect to Server.
- Enter
smb://[Tunnel Name] (replace [Tunnel Name]). Click "Connect".
- Provide login credentials for the remote computer's file share.
- Select the desired shared volume and browse its contents as if it were local.
Remote Control (Screen Sharing)
- Open the Screen Sharing app (Launchpad > Other).
- Copy the remote computer's Tunnel Name from Netrinos.
- In Screen Sharing, click the "+" button.
- Paste the Tunnel Name and click "Connect".
- You will now be controlling the remote Mac.
Additional Notes
- Netrinos automates the networking complexities, treating remote computers like they were on the same local area network.
